Why Does People Don't Opt For Diesel Vehicles?

As a personal vehicle, the purchase of diesel vehicles is decreasing. Last year, only four out of every ten selling vehicles were selling diesel vehicles. These include cars, vans and utility vehicles. In FY 13, there was a 9% decline in the purchase of diesel vehicles. At the same time, in the fiscal year 2017, the purchase of diesel vehicles in passenger vehicles declined by 40 percent, which is at the lower level of 6 years.

What are the Siam figures?
Due to the data of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), in the financial year 2017, 60 percent of the customers bought 3 million vehicles of petrol variants. This is 56 percent more than the previous financial year. In the past few years, the passenger vehicles have the largest share of the so far. About 27% of the subscribers have selected diesel vehicles in the financial year 2017. In FY 16, the figure was 34 percent.

Most diesel vehicles sold in FY 13:
Most importantly, in utility vehicles, customers are getting attracted towards petrol variants, which has reached 15% in the financial year 2017. This figure was 10 percent in FY 15. Most of the purchases of diesel vehicles were seen during the financial year 2013 and financial year 2014. At that time prices of these vehicles were kept low and fuel prices were being reviewed. Sales of diesel vehicles in the car market was 58% in record financial year, after which the record was very high, after which it has been falling continuously till now.

Why is buying diesel vehicles behind:
The Supreme Court banned 2,000cc and more diesel vehicles in Delhi-NCR in December 2015 and it was being banned for 8 months. The orders given by the National Green Tribunal prohibit most of the Delhi buyers from driving diesel vehicles due to ban on diesel vehicles more than 10 years old.
